Pet Shop Daily: Late Night Edition

Source
No, it isn't what you think... this is just a late night post that I wanted to make while I had a break from doing some work on my regular job.

What this is, is really a huge thank you for all the fans. I know I don't say it enough, but, this site would never have survived this long without your dedication, and your returning interest. So for that; thank you very, very much.

Stuff Post! - "This is the part where I ramble"

Okay time to show off some interesting things I've come across on my internet travels, in search of more and more Littlest Pet Shop stuff, and things. One of which was this guy here, holding a white board, and of course a fan lovingly filled it with Zoe Trent. I can't say that I disapprove in the least.

Now that doesn't mean that you fans should go overly ga-ga and start plastering stickers of LPS pets all over everything down a street in your home town, like a certain fan for a certain other HUB property had done... that might be considered vandalizing; not to confused with evangelizing.

So for now, I salute you Littlest Pet Shop artist fan, where-ever you are, and thank you for the Zoe art.

In the mean-time, I've got a post here that covers some other happenings in the world of LPS, along with pictures!

You can check out more of it after the jump!

LPS Ultimate Survey Update

Just wanted to give everyone a brief update on the progress with the Ultimate Survey results; they will posted as soon as I can finish converting the data into charts and graphs.

Granted, there wasn't near the turn out for the survey that I had hoped, but it is a great bit of feedback from the Pet Shopper community. Oh yeah, in case you were all wondering about it, the community pretty much chose Pet Shopper over all the other fandom names. I can tell you that without spoiling too much.

Anyway, what with work, and all, it's taking some time to get the results up to my satisfaction, but you will have them this weekend, I assure you all. Otherwise, you can spam my inbox with angry Penny Ling art.

Shoutbox: Suncoast Animal League

Alright everyone, it's time to get down to some shout-outs, and I can't think of any site, or group to get a hefty shout, than the Suncoast Animal League.

As a supporter of the show, Littlest Pet Shop, we here at Pet Shop Daily are also supporters of charitable organizations focused on the wellness and happiness of our pets. So if you have time, why don't you head over there and give the folks at Suncoast Animal League a big hello, and show your support.

While you are at it, you can donate to their organization, or perhaps even volunteer your services.

Either way, let them know that Pet Shop Daily sent you, and thank these hard working folks for their help with pets.

Love and Tolerance vs Who You Wanna Be

One of the things that has quickly become apparent as I've been on my quest to find LPS stuff for the site, is the amount of sheer overwhelming hatred that LPS has been getting. Of course as a fan of MLP, hatred for a fandom isn't something I am all that unfamiliar with. In fact there is enough hatred for MLP from the non-fans to fill one of the Great Lakes; but the thing that both surprises and appalls me, is where a large portion of this hatred is coming from.

One of the sources of this hatred is from the MLP fandom, and the Brony community. Granted, I could cough a lot of this up as simply the MLP's fandom being overly protective of their favorite show, but at the same time, I cannot help but notice a glaring contradiction in the fans that just two years ago were doing daily battle on the internet and and in real life, over the acceptance of their now immortalized fandom.

One of the biggest beefs that bronies have with non-fans is the judgmental attitudes toward something they have not watched, or refuse to watch. So many times, the fans were seen on message boards, and image boards asking as calmly as possible for people to please not judge and hate on something with out probable reason, and to at least try it before they make insulting degrading remarks about the viewers, and cough up all fans over the age of 18 as shut-in perverts.

The truth is, those early months of the fandom were pretty hate filled, and the MLP community launched back with Love and Tolerance where ever they were met with unbridled oppression. One of the defining characteristics of the fandom if you ask me. But somewhere in the past two years, the fandom seems to have quickly forgotten its own turbulent origins, and are now wearing the same shoes as those that made their lives hell just a few years ago.
